A good alternative to guided bus tours around central Lubeck are the many river cruises. Sit back, relax and enjoy the scenery as you pass the numerous waterfront attractions and historic buildings lining the Trave River, the canal and also the city's harbour. Various different roundtrips are on offer and generally last around one hour, with a selection of refreshments available on board. A modern concert hall dating back to the latter part of the 20th century, the Lubeck Musik und Kongresshalle is regularly filled with audiences of almost 2,000 people, who arrive to enjoy concerts, mainstream musicals, and many other shows. Most tickets can be easily obtained and whilst shows can be fully booked, cancellations are often available on the night and worth a try. Other attractions at Lubeck's Music and Congress Hall include various art exhibitions, conferences, comedy events and seminars. Look out for the ceramic figurines, which stand proudly on the roof.
